Selling “Value Added” Doesn’t Work Anymore

Maintaining Growth In A Threatened Recession

Occasionally, helping a company achieve new insight brings even the CEO up short.
Recently, Atticus worked with a company where sales had reached a plateau that needed help renewing its growth path. We facilitated a strategic planning workshop that included the chief executive and his key managers. The results identified two major problem areas for the business. But to change direction, the president discovered that he needed not only to clarify the company’s vision and change the way the business was managed, but also to change his own leadership style.
”It never occurred to me that I was part of the reason the company couldn’t achieve greater growth,” he told us later. ”Finding that out stopped me in my tracks.”
Fortunately for the CEO and his company, the rejuvenation and renewal we helped bring about has sent the businesses growth curve heading steadily upward, showing that, sometimes, just looking in the mirror can offer part of a solution.
This month’s newsletter presents three articles that we hope will help create a new insight into your business.
